How to Play Turbo Garage

Turbo Garage is a free drag racing game you play in your browser. Each race is a 400 metre sprint against one rival, and it usually lasts 7 to 12 seconds. Your goal is to beat every rival on a track, take down the boss and unlock the next track, from the Street all the way to Legend.

1. Nail the launch

Three red lights come on, then the light turns green after a short random pause. Tap LAUNCH (or press Space) the moment it turns green. A reaction under about a fifth of a second gives you a PERFECT LAUNCH and a head start. Tapping while the lights are still red is a false start, and your car is held back for a moment.

2. Shift in the green zone

Watch the rev counter. The needle climbs as your engine revs. Tap SHIFT when it reaches the green zone for a PERFECT SHIFT, which gives a faster gear change and a little speed boost. The yellow zone is a good shift. Shifting too early drops your engine into low revs where it has little power. Waiting too long hits the rev limiter, where the engine stops pulling. The LED strip above the gauge fills up as you approach the perfect moment.

3. Use nitro at the right time

From second gear on, you can fire NITRO once per race. It works best in the middle gears, when your car is already moving fast but still has distance to cover. Upgrading Nitro makes the boost stronger and longer.

4. Upgrade your car

Coins from races go into four upgrades in the Garage:

From level 3 upward, upgrades also need part cards, which you get from crates. Compare your Power with your rival's before a race: if theirs is higher, upgrade first or race the earlier rivals again for coins.

5. Crates, missions and daily rewards

Winning races can drop crates: Common, Rare, Epic or Legendary. They contain part cards and coins. Beating a boss for the first time always gives an Epic crate. Every day you also get a login reward (day 7 is an Epic crate), a free spin on the Lucky Wheel and three daily missions with a reward chest when you finish them all.

6. Build your racing empire

In the Empire tab, spend coins on buildings, from a small Workshop all the way to a Racing League. Each building earns coins every second, even while you're away (up to 8 hours). Come back to collect, then spend it on bigger upgrades.
